Amazing chalkboard work, Amanda. –Janaka
Thank you! Often times the 1st graders will peak through the window in the mornings to see what or who has appeared on the blackboard that day. Surprisingly, the peacock was more frightening to them than the dragon was.
Wonderful!– Thank you for sharing your artwork, I enjoyed looking through each one.
You’re welcome! I try to update often–check back soon!
Your artwork is lovely and inspiring! Thank you – I’m getting lots of great ideas!
hi, i came over from marsha’s yahoo group.
it’s very wonderful here! thanks for sharing your “gift” with us. 🙂
Welcome! It is my pleasure.
How long does it take you to do the chalkboards? I am a new Class 1 teacher and was wondering if you have number pictures I could see please? Amanda
It takes me anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour. Some are quite large, like the dragon. I did a variety of things for the quality of numbers. “Three Feathers” was for the number 3. Most of the numbers were part of an umbrella story that I created myself, and I don’t recall taking any photos of the chalkboard drawings. I honestly could have skipped that part of the block all together. The children really did come to 1st grade very familiar with the quality of numbers.
Please, please continue to show us your work in Grade Two! I absolutely love your blog.
Thank you. I will absolutely keep posting photos in 2nd grade. I am already wondering how I can top that dragon for Michaelmas… hmmm. Although, I will have a little one at home this time around (we are expecting the birth of our daughter any day now), so I may be a bit delayed on my postings. Also, a friend of mine just launched a wonderful blog you may enjoy as well. Check out http://www.waldorfish.com
Hi, Amanda,
I stumbled upon your page and I’m amazed by some of your pictures. May I publish them in the Waldorf-Ideen-Pool?
Greetings Marcus (www.waldorf-ideen-pool)
Yes, you may use any of them. Thank you for asking and for your kind words.
With joy,
Amanda
Such beautiful artwork! I see the gems on the board, is it a magnetic chalk board?
Yes!
Hello, Amanda.
Nice chalkboard drawings. I resonate with a couple of those images in particular!
Keep up the good work-
Allen
Thank you!
